About

We encourage Christian church growth mainly through the funding of capital building projects

What we do

In the last 10 years we have paid grants totaling £2.86m to 237 projects. All these projects demonstrated Christian values.

In the financial year 2022/2023 we approved 19 grants totaling £326,000 ranging from £1,500 to £30,000.

Recent applications considered have included:-

  • Demolition and rebuilding of churches
  • Church extensions and upgrades
  • Building purchase to convert from such as schools, pubs, industrial/commercial units etc
  • One off projects from Christian Charities in the London Borough of Havering

What we fund

Norwood and Newton Settlement awards grants to Free, (Non-Church of England), Churches in England and Wales and Church of England Churches in the London Borough of Havering to help with building schemes that seek to improve the worship, service. We also operate a small grants scheme to support Local Christian Charities in the London Borough of Havering

Who we are

There are currently 5 Trustees, we meet 3 or 4 times a year and consider all the fully completed applications we have received since our previous meeting.

Our aim is to encourage Church growth, both numerically and spiritually in England and Wales with a weighting towards Romford in the London Borough of Havering, and the surrounding area to reflect the benefactors’ association with the locality.
